Growing Up All Too Fast!

I decided that MaKenzie could use a bit (or maybe a LOT) more socialization.  She never get's to see other kids and that needs to change.  So the exciting news... MaKenzie is starting PRESCHOOL!  She starts on Wednesday, 3 days a week for 3 hours a day.  She is SOOOO excited she can hardly stand it.  She asks me about 10 times a day if she can go to school yet.  The only issue is that she still isn't potty trained.  It is only 3 hours a day so it shouldn't be a problem though and the director said that most of the time kids who are on the edge finally just do it about after a week when they start because all of the other kids are doing it.  Keeping my fingers crossed!

Liam has become quite the little emotional terror!  He get's into everything and we've been trying to teach him "no" but whenever you get stern with him to make him understand he get's so upset!  It's the look of "why don't you love me anymore?  why do you hate me mom!"  It's so sad!  It's also really hard to say no to the happiest, smiliest kid ever...

He's also become very vocal!  He's actually trying to say words!  He can now say:
MA-MA
DA-DA
BOOB (yes, boob... he is still nursing but he also calls all food boob...lol)
HAT
KITTY (well, I can tell it's kitty)

Before I know it he will be walking!

MaKenzie the Storyteller

Today while I was on the computer MaKenzie told me a story.  This is what she said:

"Once upon a time there was a mermaid. Ariel went swimming in the ocean and seen Prince Erik. Prince Erik saw Ariel. They fell in love. They went swimming in the ocean. The sea witch got mad and turned them into fishes. Ariel and Prince Erik kissed each other and that fixed it. Then they got married. They lived in a castle. The end."

She's already a story teller like mommy!

MaKenzie Says...

2 funny things to post today!  This morning MaKenzie was sitting on the couch watching cartoons while she was eating breakfast and I noticed she was singing a song.

"Dradle, dradle, dradle"!  (however you spell that).

I have no idea where she got that from (we're Mormon, not Jewish).  It was pretty funny though!

The other thing was from a few days ago.  My mom and step-dad came to visit and we went up to Mount Constitution.  There's a big tower up there and as we're coming down out of it MaKenzie was walking behind me, coming down the stairs.  She says "You sure got a nice butt, babe!"  I turn around and ask her "what?" with a chuckle.  "You sure got a nice butt, babe!"  She then breaks out into laughter.

2-year-olds hear everything!

A Wonderful Weekend!

My mom and my step-dad flew into Seattle on Wednesday and we went to pick them up at the airport.  After, we went to run a few errands.  We got new carpet and then went into Ikea.  Kenzie made herself right at home.
She got SO excited when she saw this little girls room set up!  She quickly took her shoes off and crawled into the bed!  It wasn't easy getting her out of there!

We headed for the ferry, which was over an hour late but we had fun playing on the beach anyway!

The next day we went golfing with everyone.  Mommy helped Kenzie work on her swing at the driving range.  Liam Worked on his swing too.

We went up to Mount Constitution.  It was WAY windy!  Glad my hair isn't too long anymore!

Yummy ice cream!

For dinner Grandpa Taylor caught us some really yummy crab!  MaKenzie loves helping Grandpa get it prepped!  She loves playing with the claws (once they can't pinch her anymore)!  Crab is one of the only things Liam will not eat though!  LOL

We "went swimming in the ocean".  We hung out at West Beach and waded out into the water.  One of my only complaints about Washington, the water is still freezing, even in the middle of the summer!

We all ate way too much ice cream...
It was an amazing weekend!  I am so glad my family was able to come up and visit!  Kenzie is going to be sad that Grandma and Grandpa are gone!  But she'll be eating the "Grandpa cookies" for the next few days...  lol  And to wrap it all up, here's what Liam thought of the visit!

Memories of High School

I have been having a hard time falling asleep at night lately and for some reason I was looking back on high school and all the fun things that me and my friends did.

I remember when:

*Junior year and everyone went down to Utah lake and we played football and volleyball and then had a massive mud slinging war.  It was quite disgusting and we all got mud in places we didn't think it was possible but it was so much fun.

*We all went to Jessica Clegg's cabin and we stayed up for forever playing Phase 10 and John Ostler tried to teach me how to burp (still can't for the life of me...)

*We bought a couple boxes of plastic utensils and stuck them in Scott's front lawn to cheer him up.

*Goggles and glow sticks!  Need I say more?  lol

*Making that amazing video in Crystal's basement and Landon screaming "Ow!  You pinched me!"  It still cracks me up just thinking about it!

*The night I was struggling with some relationship issues and David took me out for ice cream and then we went and ballroom danced in the school parking lot at 11 at night by ourselves.

So there it is.  Guess I'm feeling sentimental and a little old.  Can't believe it's already been 5 years since high school and here I am with 2 kids, our own business, living 1,000 miles away from where I grew up.  Strange how life can turn out so different than how you plan in high school.  It's so much better though!  : )

Ah, the beginning!

I've been thinking about starting a blog about our family for a while and decided I just need to do it.  I'm terrible about journal writing but pretty good about keeping my blog updated so I decided I might as well just keep an online journal!  As if 3 blogs wasn't enough, I needed to add a 4th!

So in the last two days Liam has become quite the little terror!  He gets into everything!  We've also been working on potty training for MaKenzie so the madness has been ensuing!  How do the two tie together in crazy and disgusting ways?

We'll keep it simple and leave the disgusting details out.

Gross things Liam has eaten in the last two days:
*kitty food
*little brown chunks he found in the toilet soon after Kenzie vacated the bathroom...
*anything he can manage to dig out of the garbage

Oi, life is getting interesting.  I don't know how people handle more than 2 kids!

Picture for the day:

No better game than jumping around on grandpa's lumber piles!
